Waking up one morning and feeling like your house is suddenly emptier than it was the day before...baby time:). We tried on our own for over a year and no dice. my OBGYN gave me a card to some reproductive center and that was that. We felt so lost it the mix of where to go and where to start. after almost another year of back and forth and doc's blaming it on my cancer treatment, but never looking into it further and not knowing where to send me, I was frustrated and ready for a break. My good friend from nursing school was working at an OB office that specialized in infertility. She got me into her doc who started me on fertility treatments right away and was really great. after 2 months of oral meds, shots, and daily ultra sounds still no baby. He said my best and probably only shot was IVF. So off to and IVF specialist. Our meeting with him was one I'll never forget. it was an hour of telling us he was the best there is, and that is why he is based out of LA and will only be here for us part time. he told us it is going to cost double what the other doc told us, not including the shots. Then eventually going through the process which came to a halt when he got to the egg freezing. They use a preservative called DMSO so freeze the eggs. this is a preservative that I know well because we use it in Stem cell transplantation, and I'm very, very allergic to it. When we told him that he said that there is no other way to do IVF and I will not be able to get pregnant any other way, so if i want to try any other methods he will send me to another doc, but not to get our hopes up. This experience was very sad and confusing for us both, I'm so glad I have such an amazing husband.
It was another 4 months before we would see our next doctor. We agreed to a much needed break and didn't say the word baby in our house or watch any shows with babies in it. in April I went to boston with 2 friends from work for an oncology nursing conference. It was so much fun and a trip I will never forget. One of my friends was 9 weeks pregnant on the trip and was sick. I found myself weirdly motion sick on the plain and in the morning too. we laughed it off as empathy sickness...it turns out it wasn't. 1 week after getting home we saw our new doc who was a breath of fresh air. We didn't know I was pregnant at that first appointment and am glad for that because that established us as his patient which has turned out to be great.
Before taking my first fertility medication that month I had to take a pregnancy test, which I threw away because I didn't believe it was positive. I took 3 of them before I ran to show Rick.
Moral of the story- Doctors don't know everything, I learned to never stop trying. Every experience we have is for a reason and part of a bigger plan.

Step 2: the pregnancy:
I don't know if it was because I was so excited to be pregnant, but I had more energy during pregnancy than I have ever had! I lot of it was also because my diet changed a lot. With 3 years of nursing school, graveyard shifts, fertility treatments, an ankle reconstruction surgery, and just getting lazy, I found myself Very out of shape! The responsibility of being pregnant hit me like a train! this was the one chance my baby had at properly forming a body and she was 100% dependent on me to get the nutrients to do that. wow. After a while of only eating healthy things, the thought of grease and sugar made me sick. I felt better during my pregnancy than i had in years
We found out she was a girl at 17 weeks along. We went to fetal fotos because we were too excited to wait. it took over an hour of me moving in different directions, going to the bathroom, and finally saying we would come back another day for her to finally show us what she was:). Rick was hilarious when we found out. He is such a sports guy that when he heard girl he didn't know what to do with himself. He didn't know what kind of toys to get or how he would play with her. this was short lived when he studied the toy isle and got her some cute sporty clothes. she is definitely his little princess and had him wrapped around her little finger from the day we found out she was a girl:)
My first kick i felt at 21 weeks while we were at the farmers market and I had a hand full of bear lake raspberries:)
She loved bath time during the pregnancy. she seemed to always be in my right hip so warm baths helped me a lot with that discomfort. during the bath I would watch my belly move back and forth. She still loves bath time:).
She also LOVES music. I would listen to music loud on the way to work in the mornings and loved to feel her dancing. Music still calms her down when she is having a rough night.
Around 27 weeks she established "dance off time" from 8-10ish every night turned into a dance off in my belly, even making me loose dinner a couple of times. She was pretty calm through the night after that. I was hoping this would continue after birth. It has to some extent, she is very active and talkative in the late evening and sleeps great!Rick and Rachael Underwoodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16885697285767487181noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8227855752873986160.post-90337742547304183802012-03-01T05:04:00.002-08:002012-03-01T05:28:28.530-08:00Catching upWow its been 2 1/2 years since I blogged. Here is a quick run down of the last couple years. We bought our house here in day break and love it out here...way out here:)We both have new jobs. Rick now markets cheese to grocery stores all over utah and makes his own hours, which is a huge change from the 50 hr weeks he worked at whole foods in park city. My new job is still in Bone Marrow transplant, but it is more of an office job helping out our super busy PA's which whatever they need. I'm the first one to have the job so I wrote the job description and made it what it is...so we are all still learning:). We are both so blessed to have steady jobs that fit our crazy schedule and life style.
We now have 3 dogs...that right, 3. I still think I'm crazy whenever i say it lol. Mom that's what you get for not getting me a dog growing up :). It wouldn't have been so crazy if their ages were a little more spread out, but we basically had 3 puppies which was nuts for starters. Rocky, our lab, is our latest addition. we weren't sure if we were going to keep him. we got him to train him for a friend who decided against a lab and by then he was ricks best friend. he is our sweetest dog so we are happy. We were slow to get him snipped which led to him getting our weimerainer prego while we were out of town. She isn't fixed because we weren't sure if we were going to breed her. She had puppies in August which was an awesome 1 TIME experience that we loved.
We also had some house guests this year. Bobby and cat (Rick's bro and his wife) lived with us during the spring while they bought, and fixed up their house. It was a blast having cat here, like living with room mates again. My brother Jeremy moved in for a summer job down by us right after they left. it was awesome having the extra help with the new puppies while i was pregnant and working my new job, and rick was looking for his new job. The absolute, best part was finally getting pregnant. That deserves its own post:).Rick and Rachael Underwoodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16885697285767487181noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8227855752873986160.post-39014644294565310752009-10-19T19:13:00.000-07:002009-10-20T10:31:44.661-07:00Time to celebrate! So just a quick update. I graduated nursing school and passed my state boards...phew! Such a huge relief! Next week I will start working as an RN on the Bone marrow transplant floor and am so excited! The week before my boards were dramatic to say the leased. Anyone who knows me knows that I love to be busy, but am not the most organized person when i'm super busy. So I lossed my drivers licence right before boards (which is super mandatory to have) and was going to have to drive to casper WY (wherever that is) to take my boards! Long story short a spot opened up in Draper and the testing center showed mercy on a poor frazzled nursing student and let me use other forms of ID. The night before boards I was feeling exsausted from the unneccesary (spelling?) drama in my life and swore to Rick that i was going to cut the drama out of my life and work on having more balance. The next morning before 10:30 am I had taken boards (and thought i failed), found out that an offer we put on a house in daybreak was accepted, and that we had 2 weeks to close, find renters for our appartment, and move...Bring it on! All we could do was laugh. We are so excited to finally have a place to call our own! I will post pics of the house once we have a chance.Rick and Rachael Underwoodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16885697285767487181noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8227855752873986160.post-36438404103740824272009-08-21T00:56:00.000-07:002009-08-21T02:00:12.620-07:00Update overloadI'm way behind on my updating. Here is what has been going on with us these last few weeks.
Rick has been working like crazy to organize an organic foods road tore up in park city.It finally came together a few weeks ago and was a blast! It was so fun to see all of the different vendors he has made friends with that traveled from around the country to come to his store and party with him in the parking lot. He had bands and a BBQ going the whole time, everyone there looked like they were having so much fun.
As he was cleaning up from the road tore he dropped a table on his toe. This was all in the middle of a series of night shifts for me so over about three days whenever he would say his toe hurt I would look at him half asleep like "go get some ice then and stop whining". Turns out his toe and foot are BROKEN in 4 places...yeah, wife of the year award over here.
We have been house shopping for a while and putting offers down on short sales...long process. Last week we decided to let things sit for a while and not rush anything. That decision has turned out to be a blessing for sure. Last week rick was notified of a job opportunity in Honolulu but brushed it off because I have a contract to work here for a year after school. Now that I'm out of my contract (IHC doesn't have a job for me because of a freez) we might have the opportunity of a life time since there is no nursing shortage at all in Hawaii. We will see how this pans out...but the thought of spending the next year working in hawaii and being with Rick more really gets me through these long night shifts.
Pete and Ashli came down for a visit and to celebrate cute Boston's first birhtday. It was so fun to have most of my family together. My family really grounds me and makes me realize how good life really is. Growing up my friends would comment on how genuine my family is with each other. life has gotten so crazy and keeps us away from each other a lot, so being together reminds me about how genuine all of them are. Thanks you guys for everything!
Ricks brother is taking missionary discussions and we have been sitting in on them. My favorite lessons in church are the ones that bring me back to basics. It is so easy to get caught up in all of the complications of life and quesions that we have. I LOVED hearing the basic plan of salvation lesson. Its so fun to have that experience with Rick's family. they are all such amazing people that I love to death. Carla saves us every sunday with an amazing sunday dinner. Rick and I have a serious cooking issue at our house...(I seriously need tips on good meals that last days so we can eat them on the run, this fast food thing is getting a little out of control.)Going to the in laws every week brings us back to reality and reminds us how important family is. I look foreward to sundays all week because we can really kick back and relax.
I cant think of anything else new and exciting right now. I'll post pics soon!Rick and Rachael Underwoodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16885697285767487181noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8227855752873986160.post-47749755930466275252009-08-21T00:43:00.000-07:002009-08-21T00:53:24.030-07:00Nursing Shortage what??Its 2 am on my last night of my preceptorship in Respiratory ICU, I'm stoked to be done, but super sad because I know I wont be working here due to the over excitement of nursing schools!! thats right, as of this week IHC can only hire from the IHC program until further notice! Both my plan A and plan B jobs were with IHC.My plan C is a nursing home I used to work at that I reluctently (spelling?) called a month ago just to say I had a plan C. can someone seriously through me a bone? This is really just my sleep deprived whining, everything seems so much more dramatic at 2 a.m.:)Rick and Rachael Underwoodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16885697285767487181noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8227855752873986160.post-6318834864843798942009-07-23T09:19:00.000-07:002009-07-23T09:56:05.720-07:00Back to school!<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 232px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQuYb-XRiYy0_XLz2ULU_DeD1ahEtHSFwlebKqBgjwV22DkRwPign8a-0qXD_8zSScxhsSAsYr_Jt0-ndOmscSEDP7Qdiolue-T9kblzpB29w0ePAYvZoCgnIvHPtp6JhBrkeKfXK7vAgW/s320/sad_boy_bus.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5361691696635354994" />
Graduation....So close, but SOO far away haha. As I walk the halls of work, go to my families houses, and spend time with friends the topic of conversation has been "ten weeks till graduation". It has seemed so far away that ten weeks seems impossable to grasp. Even with my main classes over with, even with pete and ashli planning the trip to come down here that week (thanks you guys), and even with rick doing a happy dance through our house because he will have his wife back in two months(super funny and brightens my day). Everyone around me has been so great, but if feels like i'm in a coma, I look at a book to study and glaze over...its pretty bad :). Vacationing really helped but I couldn't put my finger on what was really the problem here.
So the other day Rick and I got home from work at the same time and he GROUNDED me like a 2 year old to our room for a nap haha! He is always worried about my sleeping habbits (or the lack there of), so I figured I would make him happy and try to sleep at 3:30 in the afternoon(not likely).
THIRTEEN HOURS LATER at 4:30 am I woke up to Ricks alarm clock. Since then, I feel like a new woman. I have realized in 2 short months I will have accomplished what I have always wanted to do! Its like a light bulb has turned on and I can focus, laugh, and yes... be SUPER EXCITED that soon I will be out of school and move on.
Moral of my story....We could all use a nap every once and a while!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 209px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3vb81ApLuJgybpuyW3XaVE_gIDBKWR04n0AhHMy80zC_-UbQ06VZ8YwEdkWs46FHb_7gkn1uPSEN1tsS-UFLn4XzMc8yVzZxNqScDMPmPH4HEPXIPY5pN02edplflYDSU3tymSudgehJk/s320/3babiesnappn.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5361694375320792818" />Rick and Rachael Underwoodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16885697285767487181noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8227855752873986160.post-3593509075036353992009-06-27T19:51:00.000-07:002009-06-27T20:49:11.043-07:00Happy one year!!!!WOW i cant believe it has been a year since we were married! It has FLOWN BY!
We couldn't plan any trips because this year our anniversary fell right in the middle of finals week. So what did we do....We went anyways!!!
You know you are despirate for a vacation when you get in the car to go "anywhere fun" and end up in YELLOWSTONE! We started out in barelake to see the beautiful scenery ( I LOVE how the rain has made everything so pretty) and found out that same road we were on would eventually take us to yellowstone (we didn't exsactly think of how long it would take). Even though it was the "scenic rout" and took us through speed trap towns the entire way, I had so much fun!! Rick is not only an amazing husband, but a super fun Travel buddy! Our camera isn't holding a charge so the only pics we got are from our phones.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhncbIzVe7AShvQW32QH_CM2rRIPY_5fEptyoPcKMynCGkCKhk5RMIO6dYRxdtHNiDw9a8rOs-ZCaFHK9qqaAE6uJm4dLNqcQl9aBrRYT-yyehH7VMS854FSLQ6PrQhM4MgR_gI0A2X_Yy/s320/ATT00001%5B1%5D.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352207364544909138" />

Don't mind my "No make up because I didn't know we were leaving the state" get up. I should learn to be more prepaired with such a spontanious husband :)

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiv4LnKaltnfWLfV0FbS_sjBZMaIJf_II48PrdsRhseNgHjZSYH33xBXiE077vl97uSdOOZnYDDmukqNaOVixJxtnKIPkGL4iYPOMoR94zJ1gjNU3y5_ZSSEC6Z0DY3AkTtyR8VYcCdmL3c/s320/ATT00001%5B1%5D.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352207672922110722" />

this waterfall wasn't on the map. Ricks sharp eye spotted it out. When we were first dating I told rick how much I love waterfalls so he planned a huge day long date where we hiked to all of the waterfalls in the vally.(I thought he was trying to impress me, but I have learned that he just really loves to suprise me and see me happy..mushy I know) Going to such a pretty waterfall on our anniversary ment a lot to me.
Babe, thanks for the best year of my life! It has been such an adventure getting to know you and loving you more every day!! Being in the Nursery...So much fun, but made me SUPER nervous to have kids, being in Post partum...total panic attack sending parents home with kids...wow what a life change; and made me more than nervous to have kids. Labor and delivary....I thought this would put me over the edge and make me want to adopt...I LOVED IT! It got me so excited and I kept thinking "yeah, I can do this". Twisted??? Has nursing school made me totally loose my mind???Rick and Rachael Underwoodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16885697285767487181noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8227855752873986160.post-88753306045746207562009-06-06T07:50:00.001-07:002009-06-06T08:02:20.106-07:00She will hate me for this in 16 years :)My brothers family lives out in Missouri and they crack me up! Also, thanks to my awesome husband, family (both sides), and my awesome friends for helping me and putting up with me through this class. It stretched me to my limits and brought out some pretty ugly sides that I didn't know I had. These last few months I have learned not only school principles, but some pretty important life lessons that have changed the way I look at life. You would think that after having cancer I would learn to love every moment of life and never take anything for granted. I guess I needed a reminder. During my pediatrics rotation at the children's hospital I was reminded how special gods children are and how important it is for us to be more child like. before seeing my patient I had read up on all of her history and was heart broken thinking of how it would effect my life if i were in her shoes. This little girl with a long life ahead of her was on the brink of loosing her leg to a nasty infection. As i walked into her room I was instantly smiling from this cute girls contagious grin that stretched from ear to ear. She had just finished rubbing bubble gum flavored lotion all over a male medical student in her room. At the end of the night she gave me a thank you card with a picture and a note saying "thanks for helping me get better, its always nice when you get to keep a leg". wow, how would life be if we were a little less bitter about the things that "almost happen to us" and happier about the blessings we receive like this girl was. These last few months I have also learned of the unconditional love of a mother. Two of my dear friends have had sweet babies who are faced with life long challenges. The length that one will go through to give her child a better chance at a normal life, and the ability of one family to pull together when the future of their child has been suddenly changed is truly inspiring. Aly and jess, you girls are so amazing! These last few months at work I have seen some bone marrow transplant patients pull through the darkest time of their lives without ever complaining except for "this food tastes like cardboard". My husband lost his sweet grandfather last month. The way he and his family gently took care of his grandmother really showed me that family is everything. My brother Pete moved his young family out of state for the first time, and my brother Warren is about to move his young family further away to Ohio. My brothers and their awesome wives are so brave. This week I sat in on a group therapy session for troubled teenage girls for a clinical rotation and I heard a phrase that I will never forget "fighting is not fighting, unless you fight when it is hard". lately I have seen so many people around me "fight when its hard". I have looked at these last few months as an opportunity for growth and for goal setting. If I could be a little more child like, have a little more unconditional love for those around me, be a little more grateful for my health, a little more courageous, and a little more gentle with the ones i love; life could be "a little sweeter".Rick and Rachael Underwoodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16885697285767487181noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8227855752873986160.post-86256370089457735402009-03-17T09:27:00.000-07:002009-03-17T13:17:32.570-07:00Officially puppy potty trained!!So as most of you know I got THE CUTEST puppy for my birthday (pics to come). She is a DOLL!! and besides being sexist against men (really, she hates boys) she has been such a good puppy. She is only 13 weeks old and doesn't have to be in her kennel all day while we are gone anymore. She goes on her puppy pads while we are gone, outside while we are home, and holds it all night so we can sleep. Things are going much smoother than planned. We got great advice to hike with her a lot so she focuses on us and what we are telling her, it works like a dream...at leased for me. Poor Rick is still being discriminated against because he is a boy. We are working on that. Any advice?Rick and Rachael Underwoodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16885697285767487181noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8227855752873986160.post-36693623849182272632008-10-02T21:02:00.001-07:002009-03-29T08:52:42.345-07:00Our wedding Video take 2!Rick and Rachael Underwoodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16885697285767487181noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8227855752873986160.post-68364110894763273022008-09-23T06:50:00.000-07:002008-09-23T07:50:07.504-07:00The Rick Flick! Here is my tag from Meg and Mariah
1. Where did you meet?
Oh man already its juicy! We met on the internet :) I know, I know, But it makes for a fun story. We just made fun of eachother more or less on the internet teasing about baseball (we both love baseball). So we decieded to meet at a bees game. we both saw each other and thought the same thing...snob:) he thought I was a snobby avenues girl and he was a jock to me. I was wrong though, I have never been so comfortable with anyone or able to have so much fun! we hit it off and the rest is history!
2. How long did you date before you were married?
We dated for 6 months before he popped the question and 10 months before we were married. I guess when you know, you know.
3. How long have you been married?
and entire summertime!! lol 3 months.
4. What does he do to suprise you?
He is so romantic, I really have to say i'm a lucky girl. He cooks dinner a lot. Which is great because he is such a great cook! he also cleaned our whole apartment the other day just because it was stressing me out and he wanted to help me focus on finals. Yeah, he is a great guy.
5. What is your favorite feature about him?
I don't even know where to start. His arms are so sexy! I love how strong they are. his eyes also melt me. He is a babe!
6. What is your favorite quality about him?
Definately his sense of humor! I havent gone 1 hour with him without laughing! I also love how relaxed he is. My family has learned when i'm freaking out they just need to find Rick to talk to me because he calms me down. he is so spirituall too. He really has shown me so much about who I want to be.
7. What are some nicknames he calls you?
Rachy and blue eyes are my fav. there is always hon and love
8. What is his fav color.
Blue because of my eyes, he always says he is in trouble if our kids have blue eyes because they will be able to get away with anything.
9. What is his fav food.
he loves my meat loaf and my chicken cordon blue. He could really have pizza every meal for the rest of his life. he also LOVES this grose chinese buffet place that makes me queezy thinking about....the things we do for love.
10. What is his favorite sport?
Oh man every sport! he is a huge sports junky which is fun for me because I grew up with it. his fav though....well, for everyone who has seen fever pitch...thats my husband. You don't mess with his "bo socks".
11. Who said "I love you first"
I did! I'm much less romantic than he is though. We just got back to my apartment from a movie and he was trying to convince me passivly (he never said it out loud) not to go on a mission and stay here with him. It didn't take much, about 2 hours into the night I told hime it would be hard to leave because I was falling in love with him.
12. First kiss story
Yay I love this one! girls are so jelouse of this one. So I kinda wanted him to kiss me on our first date but he didn't! I was shocked! I was shocked again when he called me for a second date and didn't kiss me. I don't mean to sound hoochie I just sterio typed the poor guy. So our third date we drove up a canyon above kennicot copper mine. We could see everything! it was so beautiful. It was like he knew exsactly how to butter me up. (I love mountains and being outside). We talked forever in his jeep and walked around before he finally pulled me in for a kiss. I was totally speachless the rest of the night, I didn't know that guys could be so cute.
13. What is your favorite thing to do together?
There are alot of things that we used to do together that we havent had a chance to since we got married. Like hiking, bowling, and the reason we were ment for each other...SHOPPING! He is the BEST straight shopping buddy! Since we got married we love a good relaxing (free) alone night cooking a cuddling up to a good show. He just got me into Hero's so we have been renting their seasons.
14. How many kids do you have?
just the two of us! we can be like big kids though, so I havent gotten baby hungry...yet.
15. What is one of his hidden talents?
He is an insane bowler! He was so nice and so easy to be around! after the game instead of splitting we went to get ice cream and take it to the park to climb trees together. you know your ment for each other when you both come up with the idea to go to the park and find some trees to climb. We now life 1 block from our now favorite park and we are loving it!!Rick and Rachael Underwoodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16885697285767487181noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8227855752873986160.post-78170213428329181422008-08-28T21:15:00.000-07:002008-08-28T21:40:00.697-07:00I know i know i'm in so much troubleSo its like getting to the climax of a good book then right before the happy ending your book falls in the tub while your reading!! I realize my last blog was right before the climax of our first story. THE WEDDING!It was everything I hoped and so much more!!! So lets start from the day before the wedding because...wow! so there was so much to do to finish our perfect reception yard which was in Rick's aunts back yard. We had everyone from both side scheduled to show up around 4:00 to finish before the decoration rental company brought everything. Well I finished my final at 9:00 and then rick and i realized we needed to powerwash the basketball court before they could set the tent up because all of the chairs and table were being placed there for the night. So we ended up powerwashing and planting last minut flowers throughout the afternoon ( so much for the manicure) but I have never been able to hold a nice manicure so...it didn't phaze me :) it ended up being so much fun and so funny because we were both so ready for the wedding to finally be here so we could be off on our plane to the sunny beaches. Well around 11:00 during the powerwashing we were dragging this HUGE HEAVY compressor up a slippery (freshly stained) side walk which was wet and both of us slipped fast and hard. I had a cell phone shaped bruse on my right butt cheek and a shattered phone! This freaked me out because I was getting all of the finalizing calls. Luckily my brother came to the rescue and had an extra phone to give me. Right when i had a working phone my cake lady called saying she finished my cake but then went into labor. So her husband left the hospital to meet rick and I at there shop to give us our cake LOL! So after we got our cake safely to its destination we split so I could finish packing for the honeymoon while he kept working hard. So while I was gone the rental company got there early with the wrong chairs, and brown and BRIGHT orange table cloths and chair sashes. so my colors are brown and green:(. I love my husband because he sent them right back to get what they needed and fixed it for me. So by the end of the night we had bruises and some crazy tan lines (me with a farmers tan and my husband with a hat line across his forehead) we were good and tired which was perfect because we both slept GREAT the night before!!
So the day was WONDERFUL! We had everyone there that we love. The temple was perfect. we spent a while in there just relaxing and soaking in what we were doing. Then we walked outside into the zoo! we got married at 2 because we figured there would be less of a croud for picks and a shorter wedding day. We had 3 families in line before us haha. Well we carpooled there with our parents and took my brothers car to the reception so we could take picks while everyone headed down to the house. Well my brother told us which slot he was parked in but not the level ( its okay bro, it makes for a good story). so there we were, tux and 50 pound gown running around the parking garage looking for our car so we werent late for our ring ceremony. Luckily an angel on a golf cart came to our rescue and drove us around to find our car. We made it there and it was beautiful. our flowers were GORGEOUS!!! My mother in law is a genious! they turned out sooo beautiful. I cant wait to post those pics. We left under sparklers and spent our first night at the Canyons in park city which was so beautiful.
So the next morning we had an early flight so we decided to leave the hotel early incase of complications....smart! because we went to our place to get our luggage and realized that since we didn't have our cars...we didn't have our keyes! i am so glad we live so close to our parents...and that there were no cops out. We made it to california safe and had the the cutest white convertable the whole week! It was so perfect. We were so close to the beach that we walked there barefoot. It was wonderful.
Thanks so much to everyone that worked so hard to make our day the best day ever! we love you guys all so much!! pics are to come...Rick and Rachael Underwoodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16885697285767487181noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8227855752873986160.post-119854123624411182008-06-06T05:41:00.000-07:002008-06-06T05:53:19.745-07:00Tagged by Meghan! This one is a way cute tag from Meg!
My 3 Joys:
1.My soon to be hubby Rick! oh my only 2 weeks from today! Oh my 39 days and counting!! I didn't believe anyone when they said that your engagement goes by quick, it seemed like it was going to take forever...here we are 39 days away!!! WOOOO HOOO! We got our starter apartment here in the avenues. Right by the cemitary (creepy, I know) but oh so cute! We get to paint what ever color we want. Yet...who knows when we will because come on, i havent even blogged in 3 weeks :). Our ENTIRE bathroom is tile! i will have to post pics once we get stuff moved in.
